● This is Jorma, a Nordic Forest Troll.

● The body is made of felted wool with styrofoam inside. It feels wooly and soft, but the body is stiff. It is attached to a wooden board with blueberries and real moss and cones.
The tail is posable and made of wool. The head is made of resin (cast from a sculpted original) and have been painted with acrylic paints and coated with a clear varnish. The hair is made of wool.
It is about 14 cm in height from bottom of board to top of head and weighs about 200 grams.

● If you are having trouble finding a gift for someone, this little troll could be your solution. :)
These are not intended as toys for children. They should be handled with care.

● About the Nordic Forest Trolls:

These small troll creatures (their bodies about the size of an apple) live deep inside the
forests of Norden (mostly in northern Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden).
They dig and build their lairs under the moss and tree roots and their burrows can be quite deep with large rooms to fit several trolls, living and sleeping together. In the winter the forest trolls go into hibernation and wake up again in the spring.

Us humans hardly ever see these creatures, although they can seem a bit clumsy they can be very sneaky, especially since they can go completely invisible for short periods.
But legends and myths do mention these creatures. A common saying used by people in Sweden is that “småtrollen är svultna” (can roughly be translated to “the small trolls are hungry”) when a blueberry field suddenly has been cleaned out. The trolls love blueberries and that is almost all they eat. They also eat other berries, but only if they must.

Forest trolls only have a few magical skills, their minds are mostly focused on blueberries. But one of their great skills is that they can smell the berries from a very long distance and they can eat more berries than what seems physically possible for their small bodies.

The forest trolls hop/bounce through the forest with their small round bodies and use their tail to climb and grab things. With their big noses they can easily sense where the nearest blueberry field is located.
The trolls magic comes from their tails, so they do all they can to not lose it. Because lose it they can, both by choice and by accident.
If a troll loses it’s tail it becomes very unhappy, although it can grow back again in a couple of years.

The forest trolls can become very old, some say they can live for about 400 years.
