A Little Something we all should hear by AnyaBoz, journal
A Little Something we all should hear
For the past few months I have been meeting with a family friend (an accountant) to help me with my taxes. Out of all the subjects to understand, finances are definitely way beyond the grasp of my brain, so I am very thankful to have someone so knowledgeable helping me with this foreign, scary, and unavoidable subject. It should not have come as a surprise, but at the end of this month, she told me I owe a lot of money. (Don't worry, I am not asking for donations:D) At first my heart just sank, yes I had the money, but it was pretty much most of my business savings. I was not feeling good about things.
After mulling it over for a day, I real

Neo-Victorian Steam-powered Fantasy: Steampunk
Welcome to the land that never was in an era that had never been looking forward to the future that never came.
Welcome, to steampunk.
1. What is steampunk?Steampunk is a retro-active subgenre of science fiction that incorporates elements of historical fiction, adventure, horror, speculative fiction, fantasy and alternative history. It exists as a hybrid genre that focuses on a re-imagining of the Industrial revolution when men and women create analog machines to achieve the fullest of human potential. Usually set in Victorian England during the mid- to late-1800’s or the American “Wild West” era, this genre incorporate th

On the topic of pricing
Pricing my work has always been a problem for me. I can set a timer and find out how long it takes to make something, and I can tell you what materials cost in bulk, but translating that into a price that is fair to both the buyer and me has been a problem for me. Complicating matters is the fact that there just aren't that many needle felters out there doing custom work, and fewer who make posable dolls, so I don't have a lot of places to look for guidance on what the market is like. Charging based on time is all well and good, but what about when a 6" tall posable MLP doll takes at least 10 hours?
So I would like to hear from everyone how

How to get noticed on deviantART!
FAQ #56: https://www.deviantart.com/help/56 - How can I get noticed on this site?
I've had many people ask me this question so I'm going to elaborate the best I can. :giggle:
As the FAQ above states, to get far on deviantART you HAVE to give feedback to get it. It's almost virtually impossible for you to get noticed without doing any of that. I learned that after a year of being here. :XD:

When on the front page of deviantART it's probably the most diverse amount of artwork you'll see! Ranging from pixels to sculptures, tattoos to anime to poems, there has to be at
